I got a couple more hours to sew last night and impressed myself with my work! I was SO pleased with the edges on the top part of Meri's dress that I showed off the seams to Ryan's girlfriend.
She doesn't sew. And Ryan didn't care, but I had to show SOMEONE! This is the nicest job I've done on a lining for a bodice ever. You can't see the lining from the right side of the fabric and it lays so nicely

The fabric is more navy/black than the photo shows as gray.
And ignore the spots. They're on my camera apparently... NOT the fabric.
The flounce looks a bit weak here, but I'm supposed to pin it down in folds. That'll be one of the last things we do. Also we might be sewing bling to the edges of the flounces. Not sure yet.
Anyway, it's coming together! I might be revisiting the lining that I cut out for the skirt. Not sure if we want gathers on it or not. I don't think we want the skirt to poof out any more than it already does.
