After a week of worrying about where my mobile hotspot got itself, I finally found it this morning on Robb's bedside stand, under some fabric... My fault it was missing I guess!
Those things REALLY need a Clapper attached to them. Or a ring tone.
We use it when we're on the road with a laptop and get paged. Or to reload a friend's Tivo programming because they don't have internet access. It comes in handy!
As it turns out, two other women and myself are leading our monthly sewing meeting tomorrow and we need internet access at the hall. I'll be presenting how to get into our groups Facebook page, how to download and use a downloadable pattern and how to access various things online. I'll work out my notecards later... I've been known to ramble so I think I can fill 20 minutes easy peasy!
Maybe I'll make a joke or something. Hmm.. A seamstress walks into a bar...
I don't remember the punch line. Any suggestions?
Or maybe tell how to access the websites via interpretative dance! YEAH...
Anyway, yesterday, Leon was out visiting me in my office. He started yanking fabric off a shelf and asked if his brother would like this. He doesn't have a brother OR a sister, but is on a kick lately. We used to tell our kids that they had another brother, Raul, that we keep in the attic and feed fish heads, but they don't believe us anymore.
So Leon would grab some fabric and say, Would my brother like this?? Well, yeah if he's a girl! He said that she was, so I taught him the word "sister". He'll get it figured out.
He yanked at some fabric on the shelf that Sluggy was to scared to stand too close to. With good reason apparently, because I warned him not to do that and as soon as I looked at my computer for a sec, EVERYTHING on that shelf came down and almost buried him under the avalanche of my fabric stash!
I timed him out on a chair and he kept saying indignantly, "It's not fair!" Oh yeah it is!!! Then I called his dad to come get him.
Mom and I spent about 30 minutes or so refolding all the fabric and restacking it. SOME of it is being given away and Mom snagged herself a few choice pieces for a table cloth, couch cover and a shirt for Dad. Since she and Dad will be staying at a nursing home for the next few months while he recouperates, she may not get a chance to sew, but we'll hang onto it for her.
She LOVED the sewing group that she attended last week and is enthused to find one close to her home. I checked online and there isn't one of my type, but I think if we call around to the quilt and fabric shops, they might know of some local ones.
Have a great weekend! And don't let your stash fall over and hit you.
Normally I wouldn't have to say that...

Next time I come to your house I think I should bring a pile of Rubbermaid bins I have emptied so we can tidy up your avalanche....er, stash. 8-)
You must have some stash! I'm working on building up a stash. Well, I do have fabric (5 to 6 yards each) in my hall closet that I've held onto for years. I used a plaid (since it's back in style) for cowls for my great-nieces for Christmas. Four of them and I didn't have to purchase a single thing! Stashes are good.
When DJ was little I would time him out i the corner and then he wouldn't get out when time was up. He was so stubborn. He would stand there until he fell asleep and his head hit the wall. He wanted to show me I wasn't the boss. I told him that I had other stubborn kids just like them and I lost them because they wouldn't come out of the corner. He searched every corner of the house for days looking for his siblings. He never wanted to be put in the corner after that.
...the bartender says "I like your threads!" :)
I will not allow myself much of a stash, because it would take over and I have this thing about clutter........ I have to watch it constantly as it takes over so quickly. But I do save good scraps that customers leave and make fun things with them.
