Little used phrases

It was an interesting evening.  Meri sang a duet with a friend for the small group competition practice for parents last night at school.  Her voice was so pretty and clear!  Althought she did forget some words from the first line and then a few later, but she was SO nervous and tired from being up with the orphanned bunnies last night.

Yes.. I just said that.

They're getting better, as far as we know.  One hopped out of the box or was left out of the box by a tired girl and got as far as the dog area in the laundry room. She nor us woke up until the bunny screamed when Duke swatted it.

Yes... bunnies scream.  WHO KNEW?!

That particular bunny is having a wee bit of PTSD this morning.

And now I'm tired.  If I get woken in the middle of the night, I start to think things and actually thought I had a work issue figured out until I got to work this morning and dang.  My theory was totally incorrect.  Plus I was awake for a solid hour before I could get back to sleep.

Anyway, after Meri's duet and after consoling her with her friends, I headed to town to try and catch Ryan performing at his Open Mike night at a coffee shop in campus town.  I missed his song by 30 seconds.  I could have sworn he said 8:30 but he must been able to get on stage earlier...  He actually walked over to me smiling, hugged me then he and his friends all said almost in unison that I'd JUST missed it.  You'd think they'd been practicing.  DANG.  Give me your popcorn!  Just when I wanted to be supportive!  Apparently he'd gotten so into HIS song that he was in tears by the end of it too...  No wonder for the emotional hug!

So, also included in the evening was ordering the wedding shower cake with the edible image and to pick up the gift.  Amanda's future sister-in-law put blank recipe cards in the shower invites and I'm supposed to come up with a recipe to give to Amanda this weekend.  I thought about it long and hard.  The only food that she absolutely LOVES at our house besides Casey's pizza is my homemade bread.  So I'm giving her my old standby of the French Bread recipe.

And a bread machine.  It's amazing how they've come down in price!!  (I typically buy mine for less than $10 at a garage sale, but this is a gift, so it has to be new)  It was either the bread machine or a toaster, but then I'd have to keep supplying them with bread.

Teach Amanda fish....

That's not how it goes... is it?

I must have missed something. But bunnies! Yes, we know they scream since our cats have brought more than one up to the backdoor. Poor things. We rescued one only to have him die a week later. I can't take it.
OK. I need to hear you and your girls sing. So do it at home and then post it! Please?

A very musical evening - even the bunny contributed! Just the timing seems to be off a bit what with being woken up, just missing Ryan's song, Meri being tired etc. Better luck next time! Such is life.
