From our Colorado trip, we had picked up Leon a Dinosaur egg at Kearney Nebraska where we turned in the thief. So this egg is basically an egg full of plaster. The kit came with some little excavation tools to dig and brush the plaster away to reveal little fossils throughout the egg.
Kind of cool!
But also kind of messy. My dining room table is covered with plaster dust. Mostly because Leon didn't have patience with the brush and just blew the dust off.
Monday night, when I should have been sewing, I helped out a friend weed her garden. She's expecting a baby soon and her 2.5 year old is kind of wild. And here I thought Leon was...
I took him along and he chased the kid all over the yard and then down the block. In payment, we got some muffins and some pepper plants to plant in my own weedy garden.
Might as well as something I can eat grow in it! Weeds aren't that nutritious unless you're a goat.
I cut out the dress last night and got the front and back panels darted, serged and pressed. If I get it to a certain point by tomorrow night, then I can have the bride's twin try it on for me.
With any luck, we're closer!

At least it wasn't owl pellets, because eww with the blowing the dust away.
Good luck with the dress!
That egg sounds cool! Minus the dust of course, lol. Glad I'm not the only one with weeds in my garden ;-)
Blessings,
Jill
I hope you get to the half way point with the dress. The egg thing does indeed sound neat. I guess it's maybe more suitable for an older child?
Kudos to you for helping to weed a garden. What a chore! Ours is a jungle, at this point. Too much drenching rain.
