Seeing Green and smelling the roses

Hi all!  I picked up the white fabric for my nieces rehearsal dinner dress on Sunday.  I traced out the pattern onto some tissue wrapping paper and got to work.  I'm guessing on the Burda size compared to her size and don't remember if Burda goes large or dead on...  Amanda, the bride, is stopping by on Sunday to try the sample dress on that I whipped up Saturday.  It's easy with fabric I don't care about!

She will definitely look bride like!

So this is actually TWO dresses.  The fitted spaghetti strap dress and then an organza overlay.  Once I've got the right size and any fitting issues are out of the way, then I can cut into the good white stuff and get this thing rolled out!

Too bad the rehearsal is the day before the entries need to go to the State Fair...  I won't have time to get it washed and submitted.

Oh well.  I'll ask her for it back next year if she'll let me.  Or I'll just make another one out of a beautiful emerald green that I have a ton of...

Oh!  I found out that Leon gets to be her ring bearer!  With only 2 weeks to go, it came as a surprise to me!  I guess his daddy already knew about it but forgot to tell us.

On Sunday night, Ryan and Jen and the rest of us enjoyed a birthday dinner for me!  I've lost count... 4 birthday meals this year for little ol' me?  Okey dokey, I'll take em!  I opted for a cheese cake for my birthday dessert.  It was a year for high tech.  I got a Fire Stick and a tablet!  AND a birthday card made in Egypt!  There was some panic halfway back from Colorado when we thought maybe the Fire Stick and card got left at the hotel, but we found it in the car. WHEW!

Leon came home Monday night and I haven't had much chance to sew since.  I guess I can't do too much more anyway until Amanda tries this thing on!  Then I'll be scrambling...

It's rainy and dreary today.  I've been swamped with work since coming back from our mini vacation and have rarely had time to even take a lunch or use the bathroom.  I hope today is different and I get some things marked off my list.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Well, I've been slack.
Happy birthday! The dress will be fabulous, I'm sure. make another one for the fair! I always forget your fair comes in the summer. Ours is October and it may still be in the 90's some days. Glad you didn't leave your stuff at the hotel. Hope you have more birthday meals! You can never have too many meals prepared for you. ;)
