Sew Wedding-ish

Ok, you KNOW that I've worked on this dress over the past 3-4 weeks and screwed up the back panel and the sizing...  This is currently at the Iowa State Fair.  I have no idea if it placed with a ribbon or not.  Won't know until next week.  I'm guessing not...   It was kind of a rush job.
When I get it back from the fair, I'll add elastic around the waist and see if I can correct the hem without dismantling the whole thing.

OH!  Last Saturday morning, when I was ready to get it dry cleaned, I waited until they opened and made some phone calls to find a 1 hour place locally.  Found out that NO ONE does dry cleaning on Saturdays!  Apparently it's just drop off or pick up on weekends!

Who knew?? Not me..  So I scrambled and washed the tan lotion out of the dress by hand and dried it in the machine for about 20 minutes with towels, then hung it to dry for a couple hours.   Then ironed the heck out of it.  Meri, Leon and I dropped it off at the fair on the way to the wedding that afternoon.
It was the only thing that got done in time for the fair.  Oh well.  There is always next year!

The other item that was made earlier in the summer was Amanda's veil.  I think I may have shown it to you, but don't remember.  It was so easy to make!  I just serged a big rectangle, folded it in half and sewed it to a hair comb.  Made a bow and sewed that on too.  The special feature on this bow was extra little loops around the upper outer corners of the bow so that you could bobby pin it to your hair.  It made the bow kind of hug her head a little. Cute!
I made a second bow on a comb with the same features, just no veil, for the reception.

Anyways, that is my sewing for now.  I plan to hem a pair of pants for Matthew tomorrow.  And maybe, just maybe finish the repurposed shirt that I was supposed to enter into the fair.

Don't know...  The whole day is ahead of me!!!  Whatever I want!!!

Have a great weekend!
