Revenge of the Moms

On Saturday afternoon, Robb, me and the MIL went to see a SIL that was in town for a funeral.  We didn't go to the funeral...  We just wanted to spend time with her and her daughter.  And apparently the daughter's boyfriend!

What a fab date for a new couple!  A funeral!!  AND meet a ton of relatives that you'll never remember their names!  BUT they got to spend a lot of time together, so that's what counts.

While there, we got to see my BIL and his wife, their son, then another niece, Sarah and Leon sang his Sarah song for her.

He tweaked it a little bit for this nephew, Noah.

Noah posed for this so he'd look even tougher!

Hard to believe we used to chant, "Baby Noah Shenandoah", to this kid.  He might whip out his club if we did it now! ;)  He had to leave for his security job and couldn't stay.  He is also in the Reserves.

On Sunday, after dropping off Leon at his moms, Robb and I went on a date!  We saw the new James Bond movie, Spectre.  If you didn't know this about me already, you now do.  I was ALWAYS a huge James Bond fan!  Every time it was on tv growing up, my dad watched it and I did along with him.  All of us kids did I guess.  TV censored some of the smut out, but my mom managed to censor the last 15 minutes where the most tv-allowed smut occurred.  Right at 10pm, when there was always 15 minutes left of the movie, Mom announced "devotion time"!  Looking back now, as a parent and having purchased & watched the entire James Bond collection at one point, I totally get why she did that.

But anyway, we had a great time at the movie.  Same old James!  Unfortunately a lot of the same old props/gadgets.  Then the same old klutz, me....  I dumped the jumbo popcorn box and most of the extra butter and all of the salt graced the floor under our feet for most of the movie...
sigh.  Oh well, we'd just eaten out for lunch and I really shouldn't have been eating more, but it's a MOVIE!!!!

Meri said that they needed a younger James Bond for the next one, because Daniel Craig was too old.  I said, Um no!  He's just fine.  FINE.  But in her eyes, I guess Justin Bieber should be the next pick.

I may have to give up watching the franchise if that happens...

To let Meri see what the original James Bond's were like, she and I watched Live and Let Die on Amazon Prime.  Then she made that crack about James Bond needing a younger star.

So I turned it off within 15 minutes of the end.
