I know what you're thinking.... VAL!!! You're STILL on the Halloween kick??!
GET WITH THE PROGRAM! We're on Thanksgiving now!
With a hint of Christmas tucked in...
For your information... This is NOT blood.
THIS lone pic is Halloween related, but only because Ryan and Jen FINALLY got it finished while we were gone this weekend.
So anyway, back to what the bloody jug is above.
As I said, it's not blood.
It's homemade juice from cranberries!
I pulled them out of the deep freeze last night and threw them in the crock pot. They simmered all night and this morning was a hot soupy mess.
And by that I mean that when I went to puree up a blender full of the hot hot chunky liquid. I filled the blender too high and the micro second the blender was on, cranberry gut splatter went everywhere and even all over my clothes and arms. YEOWCH!!! That junk is hot!
So I got to spend some time bleaching the walls because cranberries can leave QUITE a stain on paint. My arms and hands are feeling better now. I'm not sure if the stain will come out of my favorite sweatshirt... so I may be dying it red.
I've got plans for this juice. It's unsweetened so I may add it to some sparkling water with a bit of Sprite. OR I may ombre dye some fabric with it for an interesting Thanksgivingly theme.
Or Maybe I should just lay out my sweatshirt on the table... hmmm ;)
I did buy some tennis shoes that were stark white a few months back and I haven't been able to wear them yet. Maybe I can dye them...
Or dye my hair! Gray hairs (aka badge of honor for putting up with 3 teenagers and their antics) watch out!
The possibilities are endless! Well, I'm sure the possibilities will, in fact, become exhausted after a while when everything we own is red... or pink.
Stupid cranberries.
