Documenting Failure.

Just to give my hubs a heads up...  you can skim over this one. It's mostly "sewy".
I started with this tutorial.  And made a couple modifications with length and depth, because I thought it looked too boxy...  And in the process, I screwed up.

Besides the altering of the pattern before I did a sample, I also cut the corners out too soon.  But I didn't realize it until I was getting ready to put in the zippers.

But by that time, I'd already cut out all the pieces and used up the 1.5 yards of fabric that I'd purchased...

So...  we roll with it.

I did two so far.  One with the zipper one way and one with the zipper the other.
And in the process I learned that I should be lining them with some interfacing or at least some fleece or somthing so they're stiffer.  I know the waxing process will thicken it up a smidge, but I'm thinking they'll just look like shiny, slightly stiffer lumps of fabric...

I've got ideas man!!!  And I'll try them all!

I found the scrap fabric from Matthew's duffle bag after all this got done.  So I'll do the final (hopefully successful) one with that.

In the meanwhile, these can be used for cds or sewing machine pieces.
 Or my lists of failures...
