We loved having Maddy home this past week! One night, she and Leon decided to have a camp out in the delivery room (Leon's word for the living room), so they dragged all the blankets and sheets downstairs that they could find. The living room looked like a refugee camp... Around 10:30, we still heard them rummaging around in the kitchen and talking, so I had to go shush them and tell them to GET to bed!!!!
Get those two together and they're just way to excited to get any sleep...
About 3 minutes later, Leon showed up at our door and said that Maddy told him to sleep up here.
sigh... He could tell I was not happy. Especially since I couldn't find any blankets up here to put on his cot. So once I got him tucked in, kissed and turned out the lights, not ONE peep came out of him, not even about there being no light for him.
I'm kind of guessing he was asleep before I had climbed back into my bed...
The big deal on Saturday and the reason we wanted him to GO TO SLEEP was that we were taking him to an Easter egg hunt! The line to get into the gardens was huge and 5 minutes after standing in line, we were glad we hadn't come 5 minutes later. The line behind us was huge too.
The billion kids that went in ahead of us has picked the first area clean of the eggs, so we ventured further in and found our obligatory five. They were all empty, so we had to turn them in to receive the little goody bag.
We waited in a short line to for Leon to sit next to the Easter bunny, but when it was our turn, he would NOT let go of my leg. My leg and photos with Leon aren't the best combo... So eh, we skipped the bunny.
and headed for the Butterfly room! The masses of kids hadn't discovered it yet, so it was relatively quiet in there.
Well... if you don't count us!
By that time the lines were shorter to get into the craft room,
so Leon pasted a bird to a popcycle stick and we started towards the exit.
Got stopped by a Lego plant...
And a display showing how butterflies happen. Pretty cool! Cocoons and even hatching in progress!
Spent the rest of the day preparing for my MIL's birthday party that night. More on that tomorrow.
For today, I'm dreaming of butterflies carrying large quantities of chocolate eggs...
