50 Burns

Well, the hubs is half a century old...  And I'm only a few short months behind him...

Like the cake?  I spent more than I planned to on the edible images but I like how they turned out.  For the record... if you call a bakery to ask how much for a 8X10 sheet of edible images, ask them again after you tell them that you're not ordering the cake from them.  It makes a difference...

His birthday was actually on Tuesday, but we celebrated Wednesday night at our annual St Patrick's Day Irish meal night.  Maddy arrived that afternoon with a blizzard on her tail but the weather was great here.

My bestie, Ada, was advised not to leave the nursing home for dinner, so we took her over a variety placeful of Irish food just before we served at home.  Her husband came over when she got done eating and ate with us... Mainly because there was no way she was sharing her Dublin Coddle with him. :)

and yes, we put 50 candles on the cake, having to be creative with placement.  Leon had 6 of them sticking sideways out of the cake...  Good thing we put new batteries in the fire alarm!
That cake literally glowed...

Does anyone else say that the number of candles left burning on a cake after the initial blow are how many girlfriends or boyfriends one has??  Apparently Robb has more than you can count.

Well... less than 50.

And Leon wasn't happy with even 50 candles and begged for an additional one on his piece of cake.  Sorry for the blur...

And I'm not entirely sure why he's in a pj top.  I think he redressed himself after his nap.

I'm looking forward to the next half of Robb's life.  Should be a great time too!
