Productively Goofing Off

I spent Saturday working on the yard.  After borrowing a rototiller from a neighbor, I set to making ye ol' dog poop hill look presentable.  We don't trust Reedus in the yard right now until we figure out how to keep him from digging under the fence... Anyone have ideas?  So he has to be chained up when he goes outside.

He has made the hill look like someone has been digging for buried treasure
OR it's a missile testing site.

Anyone see One Crazy Summer??  If it had John Cusack in it, I saw it...
The only connection to this post is that Ack Ack (Curtis Armstrong) was collecting "shells" for his dad on the beach.  Artillery shells

So... Robb and I got a new battery for the mower and I mowed the back yard until the gas ran out.  Then it wouldn't start until it had cooled down.  Murphy's law rules our house...  I waited until we put the dogs out at bedtime and I finished up the mowing back there as quick as I could before the sun went all the way down.

The dog poop hill looked better, but Reedus has discovered that he likes soft dirt and I'll have to rake it back into place over lunch...

. . .

I took Leon to the park for about an hour before supper.  He saw that I was looking around for my camera and informed me that there is a sign at the park that says, "NO CAMERAS".

REALLY....  ?  That was a creative lie!  So I stuck it in my bag anyway against his wishes.

And took a photo of him without him knowing...

But then he wanted to take some pictures, so I let him.  He's going to be a great photographer!

Maybe...

His first Selfie!

I read while he played and then I played with him, but did NOT go down the slide.

My feet were hurting and I'm not as flexible as he is.

Robb made supper and I spent the evening scaling a Burda pattern to fit me.  Then cut it out of some sample fabric.  My thought is to make this dress in as drapey scarf like fabric that I might already have in my stash and then make a similar (but without the scarf thing) for a shell underneath.

We have a wedding to attend in June and I need something to wear.  It may not be this dress, but I like the style.  The wedding dress that I'm making can wait just a bit.  I'm not as stressed about that right now, since we've figured out the fit with the sample wedding bodice that I made last week.  It'll go easier than I thought.

With any luck and if Murphy stays away a little, I can work on two projects at once.
*Crossing my fingers*

After dropping off the boy at his mom's yesterday, Robb and I did a wee bit of car shopping, and got lost for a while trying to find the place.  I began to wonder if the leftover potato salad in the back seat, from the church potluck was still good.  Oh well, I'll still eat it.  And it is delicious!

Then went home and I sewed on my dress for a little bit before we headed over to see Ada.

All in all, I didn't do many productive things on Sunday outside of a load of laundry and dishes...  Pretty lazy day comparatively.

I'll probably mow the front yard over my lunch break today, but don't bank on it...

I love the drape of that dress.

He does look a little stunned in his selfie but the other photos Leon took show great talent :) Now you can tell him that cameras aren't allowed - in the bathroom, first thing in the morning...etc!

I've always loved that dress so I can't wait to see it made up. Good luck.
