Nights in Blue Satin

Do you see the angle on this panel?  Imagine it times 8.  I've got all the panels cut out now and I had a half yard to spare!  Whew!  And I only cut through our bedspread ONCE!

The black lace order from JoAnns had been cancelled, not sure why.  So when Meri and I went to hunt down another lace that she'd like over the top of the blue satin, we discovered that JoAnn's chantilly lace had gone on sale.  Probably the reason that the order had been cancelled...  I had been using a 50% off coupon at the time.  Oh well.  So we reordered the yardage and it came out within a dollar or so of our original amount.  Okey!

Three days later, the material was still in processing and I noticed that there was a 20% off coupon that I'd forgotten to use when ordering it.  I called customer support and she gave it to me off that order!  WOOHOO!

I serged the edges on the skirt last night and got the bodice cut out of both the satin and the lining.  With any luck, I'll be able to get the skirt sewn together tomorrow night and a couple others things that don't require the lace to be here yet.

When we get to the hemming, I'm hem/hawing about horsehair braid to complete it.  hmmm.

Sunday will be my day to figure out this dress.  It won't be complete yet, but we're making progress!

If only all the tools (fabrics) were in one spot at one time, I could whip this puppy out in no time...
