Saving Kittens

We drove two cars to church on Sunday.  Robb took Leon back to the hotel afterwards and I hung around with Maddy and attended choir practice and Bible study with her.  Leon was too wound up to stick around longer.

After we all met back up,  we got a fantastic lunch at BA Burritos.   Kind of like Pizza Doctors with the weird pizzas, this was burritos with weird fillings.  When on vacation, we're all about the WEIRD and unusual.  And wow, we hit the jackpot this weekend!  I got the steak, bacon and blue cheese.  Kind of reminded of the Fighting Burrito in central Iowa.  YUM!!!  and HUGE.

THIS was my burrito half way through.  I was so stuffed all weekend.  It's amazing that I didn't gain 10 pounds!  I actually lost over the weekend.

My scale may be broken.
Or I ramped up my metabolism.
Either way, I'm happy.

We did a different fun thing before the item below, but I'd already loaded these photos, so we're going with these.  I'll tell you about the other thing tomorrow.

We took Leon and Maddy to the Children's museum.  The boy had a blast and was running around so much, the three of us had a hard time keeping up.
When he wasn't saving kittens from a burning building...

we actually were able to pin him down for a photo with his auntie.

Or play Whack a Mole/Leon with the train table.

He slowed down once and a dinosaur got him.

He learned quickly how to keep on the run

and avoid that from happening again.

I could barely get the camera turned on quick enough

before he darted off to something new.
He flat out refused to go on the climbing wall.

The water table was cool... albeit warm.  Felt like bath water running a swift current.  I guess giving the kids pneumonia is out of the question, so it was probably wise to warm it.

The mate was a mighty sailor man,
The Skipper brave and sure.

Avoid a three hour tour with this one...

The name is McVal... Leon McVal.

He looks sweaty from running, doesn't he?

So.much.to.do...

And he REFUSED to go into the Shadow making room, so this is Maddy and some random strange kid posing for a shadow imprint on the wall.

Before.

After.

A pretend grocery store...  TOO cute...

This was his favorite or so he said.  The suction tubes that swooshed colored hankies through and shot them out at different places depending on how you had the settings.

And then BACK to the fire truck.

to save more kittens...  He even got other kids to obey him.
"BACK UP!!! There's a FIRE back there!"

After an ice cream treat, we finally got back to the hotel and actually napped a little.  Leon napped in the car and thought that was enough, but I encouraged him to try and sleep longer.  He then slept for almost three hours, which was fine because I had to do some work work due to the time change and Maddy had some school work to get ready for Monday.  Robb even got some down time on the computer.  We got all that out of the way before taking Leon on a final swim.  Then we had a pizza delivered to the hotel and we watched a movie on the computer.  It had started snowing and we didn't want to go out again, especially with wet hair.

AND Maddy tried on the wedding dress bodice now that the final touches were put on it.  WINNER!  I'll be putting the skirt onto it maybe this weekend and have it ready for when we see her again.

So that was Sunday.  Jam packed yet again.

So. much. done... :)
Just the way I like it!

This just sounds like a fun and incredibly packed weekend! From a grandmother of a grand who lives far away, I would give anything to be able to be present on a regular basis.

You guys sure know how to fill up a weekend! We have a kids' museum here in London but it's not nearly as cool as the one Leon enjoyed. The dress is coming together!! So exciting!
