Backtracking just a little. On Tuesday, Leon had to get his kindergarten shots. I worked from the lobby while Ryan took him in. I could hear the screams and howling a little while later.
No amount of stickers or suckers were good enough to relieve the pain and betrayal he felt...
Three shots!!
You'd think they had been from a 45 caliber...
And THIS Is why I used to ask Robb to take the kids in for their checkups...
On the way home, we stopped for some snacks and after a second, Leon stopped crying enough for a request for candy. Ryan brought out several different kinds and Leon claimed them all.
Who SAYS sugar doesn't mend a broken heart?
THEN we still had to clean up from the tree incident on Monday. But Leon has been learning Harry Potter-type spells and making either a new wand or sword every time he goes outside.
We even played swords this morning for a little bit before the bus came. Yes, Even I played swords. It was all I could do to keep him on the dead branches.
He's scratched himself countless times on them. I think one or two more loads to the landfill with them and our yard will be kid friendly again.
But I know he'd disagree with me on that one.

Right now your yard looks like boy heaven! Perspective!
Ha! One of mine howled like a banshee at a shot, only to come home, hop on his bike, and not even wince when he took a spill resulting in road rash which would have sent a grown man running for vicodin.
Howling at shots is contagious - once one kid starts the rest join in the chorus! And truly the parent feels it the worst!
