So I've got about 300 feet of rope lights that had been purchased for the wedding tents. I think it will wrap around the house nicely... So I found some clips to do that. I had been thinking, maybe rubber bands to hook them to nails that are already placed in strategic places... But that would be too hard and I'd need good dexterity and balance on the ladder to get it up there. Hopefully this will do the trick.
That'll be lunch time I think. It's kind of nice out! I heard high 40s or low 50s today.
AND another Christmas gift that I ordered over a month ago finally arrived. I hadn't realized it was from overseas. and it's chintzier than I realized... Not sure if the son will like it... We'll see.
The dog chain broke apparently. I went to put the dogs out and the usual absconder "dig under fence" dog needs to be on the chain. The end of the chain where the clip is was just a jagged metallic mess. I cut my finger on it when I was trying to untie it from his collar when they came back in... I'll have to come up with something else...
AND I did hear some whining from them this morning and found a pile of stinky gift that one of them had left me in the laundry room. yikes... I'm surprised they can produce anything when Ellie (the lead dog) doesn't let them eat any food when she's around. She drags the bowls over to her little corner and snarls at any dog that comes close. Meri says Ellie is depressed. I think she's just a female dog (aka Leon witch - when he was 2 it was accurate). Meri is planning on taking Ellie to college with her and let her think she's an only dog. and that's ok with me...
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week already!!!! The house is a mess. But really... if I clean it now, it will just get messed up again by next week, right? Heck, by tomorrow. Sunday is a good day for that and then block all the current residents from the living room, bedrooms and kitchen. and bathrooms. "Go stay at a friend's all week!"
Ryan and I attended an "informance" yesterday for Leon's kindergarten music class. It was so cute to see him sitting next to a little red haired girl he likes who obviously adores him. It's always, "Zoey this" and "Zoey that!" And then the other girl who adores him too and is jealous of the little red haired girl. Ryan noticed her give the little red haired girl the stink eye. The jealous girl is to the right of Leon and not in the pic.
Leon's the rebel boy that all the girls love. "My dad lets me stay up really late playing video games and watching tv." (It was just the once and a special occasion, but I'm sure he's milking it.) He tells us that he's not supposed to play with the little red haired girl... Why not? Because we like to talk. oh... And then he added, "But we do talk and play together when the teacher isn't looking!" ahhhh... I'm just glad it's not because her parents said, "Keep her away from that one!" We might have to have her over for a play date.

I like that he already can dramatize for maximum influence-what a future ahead of him.
I've heard about those redheads! Better supervise that playdate!
