Snip and Tuck

Hey!  Guess where I'm going today?  The State Jazz competition!!  Meri's band is playing in it.  I got the t-shirt last night and after trying it on this morning realized I had the wrong size.  It hung like a potato sack on a Mongolian grandmother.

Not pretty...  So I decided to cut off the hem, shorten the front, slit up the side and make the sleeves tie-able. That was not a cute look on me either...  It looked like I was trying to look 14 years old.
With my arms, frightful!

Robb took a look and said, hmmm, a cut off eh?

I am NOT a biker chick.
No offense to the real biker chicks out there, but I didn't want to look like a poser.

He also said if I keep snipping away there won't be any shirt left.  and Shouldn't I have started this yesterday or on a different shirt??

SUCH negativity in my life.... ;)

So I trimmed off the sleeves and neckline at the seam, folded them over and top-stitched.  I used some double sided fusible tape on the neck and hem to make it smooth.  WOW I love that stuff!  I also pre-stitched where I wanted the hem to come up to, then ironed in the tape.

Easy peasy!  Finishing a project never was so quick and easy!
I might have to finish MORE projects rather than just starting them and leaving them in the UFO piles.  "UFO" = UnFinishedOutfits

And I'm really liking how this turned out.  It's not too tight and definitely not boxy anymore.

I'm guessing Meri will be wondering why it looks so different than hers...

Well, some adjustments were necessary...
It needed a makeover.

That's cute. EVERYONE will be wondering why yours is different and want their like yours. I hate boxy tshirts, but the tapered at the waist kind don't fit me...lol.

Great job on the T-shirt! I hate boxy square t-shirts as well, so unflattering and I need all the help I can get at this age. Like Linda said - everyone will want one!
