Busy Little Beavers

I had grilled up some pork steaks cut from pork loin a couple days ago.  It made plenty, however one by one, Meri and her friends couldn't make it for dinner.  Then my MIL wasn't feeling well, so it was only Robb, Me and the boy for dinner.  Oh well!

I'd also made some roasted riced cauliflower.  The same stuff that we made by the gallons for Maddy and Matthew's wedding.  It turned out awesome!  Oh well again.  More for us!

We did save some for Meri as she likes it really well.

But the main reason I brought this up was that the pork chops were really tough.  Robb said that happens for the pork loins sometimes.  So since we had enough left over for last night too, I knew I wanted to to do something different for it to soften it up a bit.  It was too late for me to get them in the crockpot, so I improvised.  I took a can of cream of chicken and about a half cup of sour cream, mixed it together and dumped it on top of the chops in a smallish pan.

Baked it for 45 minutes and it wasn't too bad!  The meat was a bit more flaky.  Still needed a steak knife for the middle, but that's what you get when you forget to put it in the crock pot at lunch time...

Robb said, "It's good, but not scrape the remains out of the pan good!"
Oh yes it was.... ;)

Took the dogs to the vet yesterday for shots and one of them threw up in the van.  I'm just glad the air conditioning is out on the van still so no ones driving it at the moment...
I found a new technique to fix the air...
What do you think?  Should I try it?

I'm a do it yourself kind of gal...

I was up early today and made the time count.  I cut down several volunteer trees from around my rhubarb patch and cut down some branches that were scratching cars.  No one wants to park on that side of the driveway... go figure!  Oh and birds poop on your car on that side.  I can't do anything about that except maybe build a scarecrow.  nah.

Loaded up the back of the pickup and may run it to the landfill over lunch today.  I also need to mow the front yard and pull some more weeds.

AND I need to find time to take the boy fishing.  It won't be today...  He hasn't brought it up and I'm not going to.  Maybe Monday night we'll find a fishing hole somewhere...

I took the license plates off the Saturn.  It's going BYE BYE today.  It is being donated to Teen and Adult Challenge and they should be by to get it any time today.  Whew!  That car has been sitting in our driveway for two years now ever since the incident one hot day that I'll never forget.  It has acted as a storage shed for us and has since been all cleared out and ready to get gone.  Whew!

Also this morning,  in an attempt to fix a hole, I put a patch onto the leather couch that Meri is taking with her next week for her big move. 6 more days!!!!  I'm NOT going to cry.  I'm not GOING to cry!

Keeping busy to keep my mind off things.  And there is no lack of things to do...

How does that ac even work? It must be a mess of rigging inside the car to make it stay in the window.
