Robb and I went on a date last night!!!
Well, my mother-in-law was with us and sat between us, but Robb gave me the cash to pay for our meals!
All you can eat "sweetcorn and bologna" feed in a nearby town! We'd always wanted to go, but never remembered on the actual night of it. There were also lots of tomatoes, coleslaw and desserts. YUM!!
They also sold a dozen of preshucked ears for $5. I've got a bag in the fridge now!
A sweet little boy was coming around hawking more sweetcorn and bologna, but where was he when I was actually READY for more? Probably at recess... sigh... the service...
and child labor laws...
So that was our first night as empty nesters. Today, I probably won't have contact with ANY of the kids, so today I'll really be feeling it.
I'm sure I could get used to this... But do I really want to?...

Trust me you will get used to it and then when they come home you will be so happy and so happy to see them leave. Trust me on this, just trust me.
Sounds like my kind of date! Love the food combo. Something like that would be found here in central KY.
Pre-shucked corn...really? I wish that service was available around here!
I'm worried I'll never be an empty nester!! Kudos to you for including your mother-in-law on date night!
