As usual, the weekend was full! On Friday night, I made a nice beef stew and in the middle of it got a call from Ryan. He discovered that he had the night off and would like Leon for a sleepover.
Cool! So as soon as the guys were done eating, Robb whisked him down to Ryan's.
The next morning, Robb and I picked him up and whisked him down to his mom's.
The McVal chauffer service is pretty hopping on the weekends!
We enjoyed the boy for the drive and when we got back, I sewed.
SEWED, SEWED, SEWED!
And I would have sewn all afternoon too, but I got a text from Meri.
"Hey mom... my plans fell through, wanna hang out?"
yes...!
And since I'm being frugal this week, I invited her up to watch a movie and have lunch at the house. She chose "Game Night" and it was a hoot! She also made chili for our lunch.
Kids can be great.
After she left, I sewed some more. I'll tell you about the sewing adventures tomorrow.
That night, she had attended the highschool play and then headed home. We got a call at 10:05pm old time (9:05pm new time) and were awoken to hear that she had run out of gas on the interstate. Yikes! A mere half mile south of our exit.
Before we got there a policeman had already stopped to help out or at least find out what's up. He sat in the car with Meri for a little bit to make sure she had someone on their way.
We got dressed and took the lawnmower gas to her and then followed her all the way to the next town to get a full tank of gas at the unmanned gas pumps. We didn't want her to be there all alone late on a dark, rainy, Saturday night.
Gotta keep that girl safe!
Time change that night. My extra hour of sleep went by the wayside.
Got Leon home after church on Sunday. He has discovered bottle flipping and is actually really good at it. He hung out on the porch flipping for over 30 minutes and even got to show Maddy during a DUO call that afternoon.
ANyway, It's been a long day already and I've got some things to finish up.
Enjoy your chill Monday!
