Planning out a weekend

It was a weekend of good intentions.  I was going to do a LOT of yard work, but got stopped because the garbage cans won't fit in the back of either of our remaining cars at this time...  Need to buy a tarp or three to get the leaves out to the yard waste place.

I was going to sew a TON, and did get a shirt mostly sewn for Leon and while he initially liked it and it looked great on him so far, he said later that he may not wear it for a while...

Well, it's still not done yet, so it very well may BE a while and not just his persnickety nature.

While the weather was beautiful, I didn't get out in it much.  I was at a pancake breakfast on Saturday with Robb and Meri and a neighbor snubbed me.  I really didn't feel like working outside where they could see me much.  Do you ever worry what people think of you?  I know I shouldn't but I do.
I start trying to remember the last conversation I had with them or wondering if I didn't wave at them when I should have...  Probably my fault.

So the yard work will wait until a weekday lunch time/break when the rest of the neighborhood is at work.

I'm taking a shepherds pie to lunch with Ada today. It's my treat this time.  I'm also going to whip up an Irish Soda bread to take along.  I found the box mix at Aldi and it's a self imposed
Irish themed meal today.  It WAS going to be a crock pot of Reuben bites from Aldi, but they didn't have any left.  darn.  She and I, both, love Reubens and thought this sounded good.

But they did have the shepherds pie...
I would have made some Reuben Bites from scratch as there are lots of recipes online, but didn't have the ingredients or time.  I'll try and perfect a recipe by the time our annual St. Patrick's Day meal rolls around. NEXT WEEK ALREADY!!!!

Aldi also had Ale and Onion banger sausages of which I got a pack but not sure how to cook them yet.  Thinking of broiling them like brats.  OOH!  That would be good cut up after broiling and dropping into the warming crockpot with the bread or shepherds pie! hmmmm.... I might need a wheelbarrow to take the food into the nursing home today...

Maddy and Matthew got another dog!  Daisy joins Zola as the canine kids of their household!
Can't wait to meet them both!

Anyway, that was my weekend.  Mostly "fend for yourself" meals but Robb did make a bangin' pork roast with veggies last night for supper!

I was PLANNING on doing something fantastic for supper too, but then did something else.

I try to leave others opinions alone, but I admit I would feel hurt being snubbed as well.

I will say that my closest neighbor is down my country road and I have come to enjoy that very much. No snubbing or anyone in my business. I need to look for those Reuben bites. I only get to Aldis about once a month. Closest one is an hour away :(

I have a pretty thick hide, so an occasional snub doesn't even register with me. I just continue waving and speaking to everyone.
