How Charming

I put the neckline on Leon's blue shirt on Sunday.  I used fold over navy blue elastic for it.
Looked at it twice and decided that it looks like a girls top with that neckline.  darn.  So instead of picking out the tiny stitches, I cut out a new neckline out of the remaining fabric and sewed it over the old.  Then clipped off the old.
I thought I was being clever by cutting it on the bias...
WRONG.

But finished it up because it looked good.

Leon was excited to wear it today but couldn't pull it over his head.  WHOOPS!
Um... Grandma??

I cut a slit down the front and then it just looked sloppy.  So we decided that we'll make a new neckline and it'll be a V-neck.  And obviously NOT cut on the bias.  What was I thinking?  Plus there's just a wee bit of the fabric left.  I think there will be enough for one more try.  Maybe two if I piece things.  sigh...

And the stitches in knit fabric are atrociously small so I'll just stitch the new neckline over this one and then clip it off.  That way it's a bit larger but not horribly.

Third times a charm... right?  Wish me luck.

Good Luck! I have never been talented with a needle and thread, so I always admire your work.
