My MIL got a new couch yesterday and the remnants of the last fold out couch is sitting in pieces on our back patio with no truck or minivan to get it out of here.
Those fold out couches are ridiculously heavy! So with my trusty drill, it became a few pieces and manageable. We're borrowing a truck from a neighbor this weekend (hopefully) and take it to the dump.
The delivery guy didn't like the idea of hauling the couch down our hill and was pretty verbal about it but they did it. Every person I've told the detailed story to has asked what company, guys name, etc so they could write a scathing review. It made me want to rewind and not tell it anymore. So you got the dumbed down version. Yikes. Robb has taken care of the review of the delivery, so that's not an issue anymore.
Leon's shirt turned out really good except the neckline with the v-neck was still a wee bit small for his head. He'll be fine.
I took him to the book fair a couple days ago and after he picked out a few things and the sequel to Dragons love Tacos for his classroom gift, I let him play a bit on the playground. This one is his favorite slide.
I cut out pieces for a bra from the pattern that I got last fall. All the other women in my sewing group are whipping up fantastic looking bras that if they were any more bold, they'd walk around in public showing them off. They're not and I'm not.
Mine is boring white. And while it's all cut out and sitting on my ironing board, I haven't had the guts yet to start sewing it together. Maybe because I'd have to change the thread that's in the sewing machine. Or maybe because I'm just scared to screw it up. Or maybe because I just want to make something else right now.
That's probably it. I'll come back to it eventually.
Yesterday I did some spring cleaning in our bedroom and focused on the book shelves above my side of the bed. LOTS of dust up there and some books that really don't belong. I can't tell you the last time I read a book about the music group One Direction... OR read World War Z... wait yes I can. NEVER! I sent those over to Meri's little library. And sent Gone Girl back to Ryan. I maybe was going to read it once upon a time but decided to watch the movie instead. It's quicker.
So in my spring cleaning, I removed the wall TV mount from our old fashioned boxy TV. The TV's been gone and the rack collecting dust and silk flower arrangements for several years now. I can't tell you the last time I hit my head on it too... Oh yes I can. Yesterday! and that's what prompted my cleaning mode. The rack was held up with 4 big screws into the wall and as soon as I took the first one out, my hand felt a gust of a cool breeze from outside. I KNOW it's not directly to the outside, because we have cement board siding covering that side of the house, but it's got a good draft going on...
Some nights with a hot flash, that would come in handy...
I'll caulk it up before the summer heat hits.
I had lunch with Leon today. It was pretty fun except his group got pretty loud and the teacher kept putting them to talk level zero. Later when we could talk again, I told him it's like DEFCON 1. He's seen War Games with me so he is well aware what that means. ;) Nothing like a little Matthew Broderick and nuclear war to bond Grandma and grandson with.
PLUS, the girl from War Games is the bad lady chick from the new Lost In Space series!
So he knew who she was but wow was she young!
Anyway, back to work. Have a great Thursday!!!!
