Strawberry Parfait Johnson

When I was in high school, a friend of ours made these and sold them in various colors to a couple sisters, myself and some co-workers at a nursing home where we worked. I think I spent $20 on him in the 80s!I named mine Strawberry Parfait (pronounced Par-fet) Johnson and for some strange reason, mine was a boy. He rode in my Pinto, he sat on my bed, he sat on the papa-san chair. He was a lot handsomer then...

When I got married and moved away, he came along and spooked people sleeping in our guest room and eventually ended up in a closet until our kids came along.

THEN he was appreciated, if only for a short time. Eventually he started scaring Maddy and was relegated to the closet shelf again. But not before the kids and the dogs scared the stuffing out of him. I patched him up so many times, sewing seams shut by hand. His eye is gone for good. What do think? An eye patch this time? And kind of looks like he's been in a boxing match with Mike Tyson...Mimi over at LivinginFrance has made some that are very similar but a LOT cuter and sells them in her Cursing Crafter Etsy shop. I was browsing around yesterday and suddenly thought of Strawberry Parfait! Mimi's little pillow buddies are so darn cute!

I should probably stitch him up again. It's been years since he saw the light of day, so as of today he's now my office buddy... Until he starts freaking me out or talking to me that is...

I can see where he would scare someone. Wow.

OMG! He totally needs an eyepatch. And maybe a little pirate bandana. Yep, that's what he needs.

I don't know Frances....I think a body length paper bag would be better...lololol

Didn't you mean to say that guy gave YOU $20 to take it? j/k

S.berry is 'highly unique'....and that's all I'm going to say before I really get into trouble here. ;-)

I think he has lived a long and happy life. It may be time to be put out to pasture...

Whoa he talks, no wonder you spent $20 on him!

I think that his battle wounds give him character! I would patch him up. You never know it may be worth money some day, like the first handmade cabbage patch kids.

I would definitely go with the eye patch look. He could have a Johnny Depp thing going.

Hey! Thank you so much for the shout out!! You didn't have to do that!
Your little Par-fet is a cutie. He reminds me of some cartoon but I can't remember which...maybe a toy from the Rudolph movie?? I can't place it and it's gonna drive me nuts.
