Feets Don't Fail Me Now!

If I lived in a world full of zombies, I don't think I'd survive. I guess I know this because of my son's zombie survival guide book and for the fact that I just watched the season finale of The Walking Dead early this morning. I wouldn't have the guts.

And apparently now, the feet.
About a year and a half ago, I wore some uncomfortable high heels to a nephews wedding. Since then, my big toe on my left foot has been giving me grief. For a while I thought it was broken. Now it only hurts if I accidentally put too much pressure on it or hit it on something. At one point, it hurt to have a blanket lay over it. It's much better now. I'm thinking it was a deep bone type bruise that just takes time to heal heel. Get it?

On Monday I sent some cold meds with Meri to school, but since I didn't send the original packaging for them, the school nurse couldn't give it to her. I had no car that day. My son and his wife had borrowed it to meet up with her grandma, so over lunch I walked to the middle school (about 8 blocks) and gave the medicine to her myself. It was a brisk day and the walk felt good! As I was getting back to the house and stepping up the front steps, I suddenly got a shooting pain in the right foot.

Someone had broken a Corelleware plate the day before and I must have picked up a fragment in my sock that morning. During the walk, it had worked itself through the thick sock and suddenly into my foot. I'm so glad it happened AFTER I'd gotten home! I think I've gotten it out, but it still hurts sometimes, so I may not have. The piece was so tiny I couldn't see it, just feel the sharp little edge. And couldn't grip it to save my life.

So yesterday I was coming back to my office after running inside for a second. As I was coming back out, I stubbed my right toes on a metal bed frame that was leaning against the wall. I must have been distracted by the telephone... Anyway, my toes on my right foot now are all swollen up and gross looking. Well, they weren't pretty to begin with... I don't paint my toe nails and have never trusted anyone to give me a pedicure. I'm ticklish and will likely kick them. So my toes are ugly.

Now they're really ugly... and hurt. So if I limp to the right, it's because of my left foot. If I stumble to the left, it's because of my right foot.

Please don't mistake me for a zombie.

As long as you hop around quickly, you will NOT be mistaken for a zombie! ;-)

And was your dad at your house the other day when the plate smashing was going on?lol
That's all I could picture when you said someone had broken a Corelleware plate....

oh my goodness! that sounds just like my household except twice as bad, ha! if it's not a needle it's glass, if it's not heels ruining our damn feet it's stubbing them on everything in and around the frickin house. crazy! i hope your toes feel better, sounds like we need a massage;)

Weird things like this happen to me too. I had sneakers that were a little too tight and one nail was a little too long and I bruised my nail bed.

This could be an excuse to be waited on hand and foot (no pun intended.

I'm ticklish too but I still LOVE a good pedicure. It is so worth it!

Get a drink and put both of your feet up.
