Molly Coddled Birthday!

Do you know what I have in common with Jessica Simpson and the guy who played Herman Munster?  Yep, it's their birthday today too!  Last night at my birthday dinner, one of my dear children guessed 35 and another 42.  I decided to go with the average of the two.  Today I'm 38! and a half!

It's better than reality!

However it does cause a minor scandal considering my eldest just turned 22...

As a grandma, it's probably good that I'm in my 40s...  Leon "helped" me blow out my birthday candle and is getting pretty good at it!  I don't think he has emphysema.

He was a royal mess after his and part of my pieces of cake...

Meri made me a chocolate cake with a brownie mix mixed right in.  It was DELISH!  I had two pieces...  Then to appease the chocolate haters in the family, she made some white cupcakes.

I got some pretty cool stuff as gifts!  Meri gave me a new teapot!  She was inspired when over lunch that day I suggested that we go de-scale our current one.  She didn't think that sounded fun, so when she and Maddy were out shopping that same afternoon, she got me a new one!  It's pretty and Leon loves how the flapper thingy-ma-bob snaps shut.  It is his new toy...

THEN...  This is one of the racks where we display our birthday plates.  We've got a birthday plate, handpainted, for everyone but me.  I "thought" we had one for Ryan too, but can't find it.  I'm either forgetful in my old age, or there truly was never a plate painted for him...  We'll remedy that.

By painting him one.  My memory is probably too far gone.

Maddy went out and painted me my very own plate, presenting it to me last night!!  I never have to use the generic CELEBRATE plate again!!!  Unless of course this one is dirty and I need one for my cake...

I requested Dublin Coddle for dinner last night!  Robb had it all in the crock pot before he left for work yesterday and it was SO good!  I love food cooked in apple cider!!  Call me a weirdo.

No don't on my birthday!

So today is the day.  The day people who only know me as a barely casual acquaintance on Facebook bombard me with birthday greetings.  The day I officially turn one year older and am closer to retirement.

The day I share...  with tons of actors and actresses I've never heard of...

My day.  And it'll be a good one!
