Smokin' Potato Salad

For our church friend's potluck at my bestie's house on Saturday, Robb made this.  We found the recipe in the HyVee Season's magazine that they give away at their stores.  Apparently you can smoke all sorts of things that I never knew about... Like salt, cheese, peaches, mac & cheese or vegetables.

Weird huh?

Anyway, Robb saw this recipe and thought he'd like to try it.  I bought the small potatoes at Walmart. *GASP* not HyVee you say?  Nah, I was at Walmart, so I picked some up there instead.  Whatever...
Our smoker grill does not get up to the temp that this recipe calls for, so Robb baked the potatoes in the oven for 45 minutes or so and then put them in the smoker.

He thinks the next time he makes it, he'll double the sauce batch though.

At the cookout, the potatoes went fast and we ended up with only 3 tiny potatoes left.  I wrapped them up and tucked them into Mike's fridge.  Someone must have swiped one, because he said when he went to eat them for a midnight snack, there were only 2.  I'm thinking he was tired and ate it...  along with the bacon explosion that Robb also made for him,. and I got none of...

So anyway, if you have a smoker...  I heartily recommend this recipe!

What are YOU smoking?

I'm thinking we need a smoker. It will be just one more thing to store on the side of the house.
