We got to the hotel in the Chicago-land area on Friday afternoon, just in time to watch the kids swim a little before supper. A few of my siblings besides Robb and I were in charge of the minions while the ones who were involved with the wedding went to the rehearsal and dinner.
We had a million pizzas delivered for my billions of nieces and nephews and we all ate in the hotel lobby/cafeteria. Warrenville has an awesome Hyatt, just saying... The desk people there were really helpful and let us dirty up the place and use all their dishes! They did not pay or tell me to say that, but one rule you must abide by... WEAR YOUR SHOES!
A few of the kids and myself played some travel Monopoly that we brought along, until dinner arrived. I hadn't realized the cards were going to be so tiny!! I had to dig out my reading glasses to find Reading Railroad. And the one with his feet up is a cheater! As far as I know. He was the banker and in my experience, the bankers usually tuck some of the $500 bills or more under something until the last 15 minutes of the game then win. I've been the banker, I know! As soon as dinner arrived, the game was abandoned. We'll assume I won.

After supper, we (meaning my girls, Leon & some of their cousins) went swimming. Love the water droplets around him in this picture!
I know he didn't seem too pleased in this shot, but I think I'd just missed the CHEESE comment or he just swallowed some water. My niece Elizabeth is off on the right.
I had my camera set to sports setting and caught my nephew Michael in about 20 stages of jumping in and throwing his ball. He loved watching himself in slow-motion later.
Meri took turns with Maddy pulling Leon all around the pool. She hadn't brought her swim suit, so good thing I had a plethora of relatives in the hotel! We just borrowed one from someone.
All four sets of legs are from one family, the one with 14 kids. All of them were staying at the hotel, but not all in the pool. And wouldn't you know it, someone decided they had to walk past while I'm doing the sports setting photo?... I picked the one that has the less of her and more of their legs.
I'm still a week behind in my posting! This all happened LAST Friday night! I'll do the wedding on Monday. And just so you know... I don't take pictures EVERY day! We'll be up to date soon.
Have a super weekend!

Ah swimming in the winter. Nice change :o)
The excitement of a hotel pool cannot be measured, when you are a kid!
I', telling you one of these days I am going to crash one of your family events. Den would call the cops on me for you.
You are awesome. Love hearing about your family and all the adventures:)
Happy New Year!
Leann
That Leon is soo durn cute!!
Pictures on the blog take a lot of time for me. You did a great job. And you need to come play Monopoly with my crew. I'm usually the banker since I can't trust the rest of them. And they try to take advantage by sneaking money out of the tray. I have to watch the board, the money and their grubby fingers. ;)
