Stranger Danger!!

Robb was waiting at the mall to pick up Ryan the other day and as he sat, enjoying the breeze and reading his Kindle, another car drove up alongside him.  Robb gave him the nod because Iowans are friendly that way.  But the driver came over to Robb's car...

Now Robb does NOT like to talk to strangers...  actually, in fact, he thinks of himself as
a wee bit anti-social.  Before kids, I was the one who had to return the movies to the video rental place.  I was the one who had to call the utility companies about questions on our bills.  If we were desperate enough to stop for directions, (before the time of gps's) (and it was my idea and I insisted) then I was the one to go in and ask at the gas stations. He doesn't like to be social unless I force him to.

He knows HOW, he just would prefer to sit and read his book.
Maddy thinks of herself as the same way.

One of his brothers is exactly the same way, so his wife and I used to commiserate a lot.

Anyway, this strange man approached Robb's car and asked if there was a Fazoli restaurant anywhere around here.  Robb said there was one in the next town, about 12 miles away.  So the guy reached into the back of his car and pulled out 6 coupons for Fazoli's and handed them to Robb!

If you buy a drink, the twice baked lasagna was on them!  COOL!!!  Almost free date night!!!  So the other night, we took the kids out to dinner and bought them a pop each and they got dinners and yummy bread sticks as sides!

Leon was looking pretty adorable with his juice box.  The girls said "Look at us Mom!  We can be cute too!!!"  So I took their pic too.

On Saturday, Leon had been busy emptying his toy box in the living room.  Wow, he has a lot of toys!...  He discovered that his toy box is actually a baby bed!  We'd had it built just before Ryan was born.  It used to have a mattress that fits it, but now toys fit it perfectly, so that's what it is now.

He tried it out and pretended to nap in it.  Fake ASHEW ASHEWs just melt your heart!  He tried doing that during church too... Not so cute there!  SSSHH!!

Then he grabbed a book and did some reading in bed.  Just like everyone else in the house does!

Here's the book he's reading!

Now...  Don't get me wrong!  It is still dangerous to talk to strangers, if you're under a certain age, but Robb had seen that age a LOOOONG time ago and can seriously, for reals, legally, talk to strangers now!

And it paid off!

We've been trying to imitate his nod ever since but don't quite have it down yet.

I'm sure he's glad he took the time to acknowledge the guy now! The girls are cute, too. I agree. Leon with that juice box, pretty adorable.
