Colorado or Bust: Part 2 Feeling poor

Thursday in Colorado.
After replying roughly six times if we were in Colorado to Leon, we arrived at the church for the soccer camp.  It was sunny out, so they made use of the green.

Leon made use of the empty preschool rooms and found a costume to try on.

Robb hung out with him in there.  When myself and a few ladies finished putting together the weekend church bulletins, Leon pulled me outside to play.

He got over his fear of the bridge and then I couldn't keep him off it.

Watch out! A ball!

 and a little attitude too...

Since most of Maddy & Nate's afternoon chores were completed, namely the bulletin and getting things together for the big camping trip, Maddy was able to take the afternoon and evening off!  Robb had some pizzas waiting for lunch for anyone around.  As soon as we were done eating, off we went for the afternoon!

The first place we hit was the Swetsville Zoo!  I'd found it online and thought it deserved a looksee.

Way cool!  Built in the 60s and rusted to perfection, there were tons of statues and scenes made entirely out of repurposed metals, engines, propane tanks, etc.  Even a monster made from the back end of an old RV.

Another name for this town could be Tentanus Town.  But we weren't supposed to touch most of the items, so we didn't have to run get a shot or anything.

Meri took most of the photos here for her 4H projects, due this Friday, so she's not in a lot of them.

Also, due to the summer monsoon season in Fort Collins, some areas were flooded.

I think a few of these are real 4H winners, don't you think?

Afterwards, we got Leon down for a nap in the van with Robb, while the girls and I shopped!  We found three dresses for Meri for the upcoming weddings.  Not because she really needed three, but because none of us could decide together which one was best, because they all looked so great on her.  So we got all of them.  And because the checkout gal was from Iowa, she found some good coupons for us!  KaChing!!

I even found a dress to wear to the weddings!  I have no shoes to match, so I might need to go back shopping again.

When Leon woke up, we took the kids to Fort Fun.  A wonderful place to kill some time and spend some cash.  I found a Galaga arcade game so of course I had to try and beat my old college score.  No such luck.  The buttons on this old machine don't work the same as they did back in the day...  I used to spend 20 minutes on the same quarter!

Much like Leon and the Skeeball game...  But it's not because he was so good at it...  He could NOT get the ball to go past the first ridge.  Luckily the thing is on a slope and the ball rolls back to you.

The girls rode on the bumper cars.  Because it was so dark in there, I couldn't get a good shot of the girls, but I did of a very jealous little short boy who couldn't go on the ride. He cried the entire time of their ride.

So later, when Meri and Maddy wanted to ride the go-karts, I kept him inside to use up the rest of the tokens.  He's getting a little better on Wack-a-gator...

We had a gift card for Old Chicago, so we picked up some dinner and drove out to Maddy's host family's house that she'd been house sitting at.  Enjoyed dinner on the deck, a relaxing time in the massage chair and then Spiderman on the big BIG screen tv in their movie room.  I don't have the photos handy, but will show you eventually.  That house was awesome...  As I said yesterday, it's worth well over 1.6 million.
Meri said she felt really poor walking into it.

This is the view from the deck to the mountains.  I think Meri will a good ribbon out of this one!
Feeling poor.

We good friends that have a house like that, they are now selling as they do not want the upkeep and the payments. Be careful what you wish for, sometimes I feel poor, but I tell myself I am rich in blessings and so are you.
