Break out the Cheez Wiz! It's a party!!! and giveaway!

I'm celebrating a lot of things today!

1) 300th post!!! This is 291 according to blogger, however I have deleted a few posts and started a couple that I never published. But in my mind, this is #300!

2) My blogiversary is tomorrow!!! 1 year of spilling my guts to people who started out as total strangers and ended up being an important part of my virtual life.

So I'm having a giveaway. Here's what I'm doing. Remember those pillowcases that I made for Christmas presents? Well, it's not them.

I'm out of Christmas fabric and who wants to think about Christmas and cold weather anyway??! I want to think green, growth and SPRING! Enough of this cold white stuff! Bring on the dirt!

I am giving away a set of pillowcases influenced by SPRINGTIME! I don't have any pictures because well... I don't have the fabric yet. That will come this weekend when I can make it out of the house.

So here's how you can win... 1 point for each item below.

1) Follow me - if you already, please remind me in a comment and I'll mark you down.

2) Leave me a comment

3) blog about the give away and leave a comment with a link to it.

4) leave a comment giving me some ideas on Christmas gifts that I can sew for 2010 Christmas for my many nieces and nephews and in-laws and out-laws. The more ideas, the more points...

Give away deadline is Monday, March 1st! at 8am. I will announce a winner of the pillowcases that morning.

Thanks to all of you for being such loyal followers and future followers. Muhwa!

I am a follower. Congrats on 300 posts.
Of course, since I don't sew, this is the hardest question you could ask me. How about book bags and purses for the girls? Not sure about the boys. Scarfs?

gift idea....for the techno teen....an iPod case/cover

gift idea #2....if you have peeps who like to do puzzles...a puzzle mat. You use craft felt, it's attached to an empty wrapping paper tube with velcro attached along the edges. You work the puzzle on the felt mat and when you have to put it away just roll up the mat...the felt holds the pieces in place and the velcro keeps the roll tight and helps keep the pieces from falling out. It's not a bigtime sewing feat tho. I hope this doesn't sound strange...ok, it prolly does.lol

If you have small kids to sew for, how about a crayon burrito or crayon roll? When I was little my mom made me a crayon apron...similar idea.

How about a fabric coupon envelope/holder?
You could take a business sized envelope apart and use that for a pattern.

Ok, the simplest idea of all. Make everyone a furoshiki cloth. It's a traditional japanese cloth you use to wrap stuff. You can wrap xmas presents with them. Very eco-friendly since you reuse it every year instead of paper wrapping paper that gets thrown away. Not much sewing though since it's just a length of fabric that's hemmed.

One more and then I'll shut up...lol
How about car organizers? Those things with pockets that hang off the back of the front seats....
Or use the crayon burrito roll idea and make jewelry rolls for storing jewelry(or taking jewlery on a trip)to keep it from tangling.

For your gift recipients that are trying to be more green, you could make reusable shopping bags. A lot more people are using those lately!

things to make:

I'm thinking some kitchen items:

placemats
table runners
or maybe a monogrammed kitchen towel to hang from the stove handle?
