2012 Yearly Review Extravaganza Part eins

And I say "eins" because I'm part German.  I have no idea what it is in Norwegian, and I'm sure I should know.  But I do also know it in Spanish and in Latin... and I'm neither of those nationalities, so whatever.

Anyway.  I'm participating in the 2012 Review Extravaganza with Mimi and others.  So in compliance with all her rules and regulations... Here we go with the first 3 months of 2012.

January
I learned how to knit.  Not WELL, but Maddy's T.A.G. project was to collect 100 knitted items for an orphanage in Ukraine, so I jumped right in with both feet and tripped a lot.  What's the orphan going to do?  Send it back?

Also Meri turned 12 years old!  That's old enough to...  well close enough to watch PG 13 movies as long as you have a responsible adult to say, "SSH, don't ever say that" and "cover your eyes!".  She celebrated with a couple close friends at home which included a zombie makeover event as well as a personal family party later on.
The girls discovered lots of fun crafty things to do in Pinterest and made a lot of t-shirts and other things.

I started sewing on Maddy's Sweetheart ball dress.  She had found a dress at a mall and took a picture of it.  We did our best to duplicate it and it turned out really cute.  I'll be showing it at the ASG style show this weekend.  The dance was the last weekend of that month.
And finally, we threw a baby shower for Tiffany and Ryan.  The due date was in February!

February
The groundhog played dumb.  I made a new pencil bag for Maddy and Meri is using it this year.

Started guessing when the baby would be born.  And while I waited, I organized my fabric stash.and thought about prom dresses.

Meri got her 1st degree Black Belt in Taekwondo!!!!  Kickin' it old style now!  Keep in mind, this was before Gangnam style, or she'd be kicking a little differently...
I had a giveaway pool to have you guys guess when the baby would be born.

Maddy found a prom dress online that cost $8000.  So we decided to mimic it for her prom dress.  We ended up handpainting it using the movie Tangled as an inspiration.
Mad played the accordion in Jazz band and we attended the baptism of my preemie nephew!
LEON was born!!!!  and Mammahasspoken won the guess the birth date giveaway!

March
More work on the prom dress, mixed in with Honor choir, Jazz competitions, variety show, school events and everything else.  I'm surprised the dress got done at all!

Leon Leon Leon blah blah blah!  I talked a lot about a little baby that was weaving himself into my heart.  He screamed a lot.
I hurt my foot seriously bad during a board break gone wrong when doing a Black Belt midterm.  It hurts just thinking about it.  YEOW!

Did lots of day trips and fun stuff on Spring break, including a Go-Kart fun place with the kids.
We had our traditional St. Patrick's Day meal with my bestie and her hubs.  Leon had a great time!
Robb and I went pub hopping with the bagpipe band again! and then seranaded a sick member at her house.  It was a tearful event...

Robb had a birthday and I would once more be confused with how old I was until July.

Well, that took longer than I anticipated!  Oh well.  Linking up to Mimi now!  Go read some other yearly reviews!

Dang.  wouldn't you just know I'm a day early!!!  Sheesh!  I WISH it was Friday!!!

Holy cow you were busy! And your girl has good taste if she picked out a dress for 8K! Yikes :) haha. My mom loves to sew and is an awesome seamstress too so sounds like your girls are in good hands. The one dress was beautiful!

Better early than late :) I am so envious of your sewing ability. I do a lot of crafty stuff- sewing is not one of them. My brain just can't wrap around patterns.
How fun to have a zombie party. And a black belt- so awesome! You had a busy three months- but a good one too.
So glad you are recapping with us.

Leon is quite a looker!! I'm a sucker for baby pictures-- they give me the fever... agh! So how did you know to stop at 3 kids? I've got 3 now and thinking of 4... yikes-- I wish I could sew but I just CAN'T do it.
I like to use the sticky iron tape to make up for my short comings as a seamstress when it comes to hemming pants. Newest follower & thanks for linking up!
