Yearly Review: Part 3: 2011

Yearly review Part 3 July - September

Were there only three months between July & September???!

On the 4th of July under the fireworks, my son proposed to his girlfriend, Tiffany. She said Yes! Then they came back to the house to watch fireworks with us around the fire pit and told us all about it. We were very happy for them and Tiffany asked me to make her wedding dress! The wedding was planned for spring.

I turned a year older... Maddy sewed a pair of shorts for herself by herself! She was inspired! and successful!Later that month, the wedding was moved up to September. I started working more in earnest on my dress and the bridesmaid dresses. We were going to wait on the wedding gown until August after the State Fair.

Also in July, the girls took their photography and Meri's sewing as well as a few other projects to the county 4H fair. They got mostly blues and a few purples which are very good! Meri's dress got a purple at the modeling portion of the judging and a purple for the construction of the dress later in July. She had been hoping it would go to State fair, so she entered it in open class at the State fair herself where she got third place in the kids division! The puppies finally all found their homes, one with a false start because we got her back briefly... But then they were all gone. Ellie got out of her funk just in time to be shown with Duke at the 4H county fair. Meri got purple ribbons for them too! And I think a blue.I entered Maddy's prom dress that I made at the State Fair level and got 2nd place in the special occasions division.Had a stay-ca-tion with my family. Went to the zoo, got lost trying to walk into a park, helped my folks do some moving and generally just hung out as a family.

Every spare minute was spent sewing on the dresses. I showed you several steps along the way and shared my anxiety levels, I'm afraid... A friend from my sewing group came for a Saturday and helped me with some finishing touches on the bridesmaid dresses so I could get serious work done on the wedding dress. Thank you Amy!!! There is a reason stress rhymes with dress.

Maddy started Cross Country in August and I am so proud of her! I couldn't jog to the end of our block without getting winded...School started towards the end of August and Meri campaigned to be on the Student Council and won! Her speech was VERY memorable!

I shared a Dad story and surprisingly enough didn't lose a single follower because of it!

The wedding was in late September outdoors and turned out beautiful! It seems like yesterday... I told you all about the miracles that occurred that day. There were so many, but I listed at least three and included the rings getting locked in the car and keys to the reception hall getting thrown out.My baby sister gave birth to Braeden, WAY early! 11 weeks early... BTW: He's home now and doing awesome! His 3 year old sister loves him to death. So you see, I told you these three months heated up! And not just weather-wise. I gained several gray hairs and grew up a lot in these three months.

Tune in next week, when you can hear Val say, "GET OUT OF MY ROOM, I'M SEWING!!!!"

Have a wonderful and merry Christmas!
